House In The Wood, a program of Northwestern Settlement, was founded in 1910 with a simple but innovative and powerful concept, foster growth and responsibility in our children and young adults so that they can return to their communities as leaders. With the ultimate goal of disrupting generational poverty, we deliver our concept through our Summer Camp, Outdoor Education, and Leadership programs. Introduced in the late ’80s as an opportunity for the general public, the HITW Retreat Center was established to provide a space where folks can retreat, relax and rejuvenate. Whether it’s a friends & family weekend escape, special interest group meet-up, or nature-chic wedding, we pride ourselves on the customization and comfort of our guests.
Rhythmic poses anchored by conscious breath control.
Therapeutic techniques to restore balance and inner clarity.
Guided meditation and intentional awareness training.
Elena's classes are the highlight of my week. Her voice is incredibly soothing, and she has a way of really making the most challenging poses feel accessible and purposeful.
I started as a complete beginner. Elena's patience and precise adjustments helped me build a practice from the ground up — the studio vibe is unmatched.
